Day 33 and I'm Feelin' Groovy

I woke up early this morning knowing that, whatever came my way today, I would greet it with a smile. I spent the day feelin’ groovy… is there a better way to pass the time when you’re headed toward a milestone like your 40th birthday? Is there a better way to BE when you are…

• Picking up my smiling children from their sleepovers?

• Roaming the aisles of the grocery store?

• Driving around the city getting a string of green lights?

• Letting the kids pick out a treat at the dollar store?

• Laughing at the mice and skinny pigs at Pets Unlimited? (Talk about cheap entertainment – I highly recommend it!)

• Watching my baby perfect her front crawl?

• Enjoying girl talk over a tall soy chai lattee (no water, no foam)?

• Folding laundry?

• Attempting to learn the moves on High School Musical 3 for Wii?

• Watching a tear-jerking “Brdige to Terabithia” with my daughter?

• Learning how to work the tv card in the computer? I’ve only had it for 16 months and did NOT know that you can watch tv (in a small window) at the same time you have another program open!

Yep… you really don’t have to go out for dinner, drive in a sexy car, play pool, and drink wine in order to be feelin’ groovy. It is nice. And I appreciate the effort. But it’s the simple things in life we learn to appreciate and making the moments last (paraphrased from Simon & Garfunkel) is what life is all about.

Live. Love.Laugh.
