There’s nothing like a stack of tickets in your purse and a deadline to get you to step outside your comfort zone. Throughout the day, I approached friends and strangers alike, asking them to join me at a Hypnosis Show tomorrow evening. The results were good but, really, it was the thrill of coming up with creative ways to get their interest that excited me the most.
En route to 40 (just 23 more days now), I am steadily putting myself ‘out there’ more and more. I am excited as I venture out this evening to part two of my four-part workshop series. While I have the curriculum planned, I am somewhat left to the mercy of the group as to how the conversations and teaching will evolve. It is outside my comfort zone and I LOVE it!!
Yes, I have been taking more risks lately, personally and professionally – breaking new ground to be sure. Sometimes I feel like I am truly on an adventure without a road map. Now THAT’S what I call exploring new territory and, for me, the recovering type A perfectionist, chronic list maker, and control freak, it indicates major growth. I have cultivated faith that everything is as it should be and that there is a gift in each moment. This gives me the courage to live my life out loud and in color.
Mark Twain said, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you did not do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bow lines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails, explore, dream and discover." There are lessons in it all, I am discovering. Regardless of the outcomes of my adventures, I will continue to dream. I will Embrace My Potential.
