When my to-do list gets longer than my arm and starts heading toward the rest of my body, I figure it’s time to call in the troops! It’s delegation time. Now, where to start? The children aren’t here this week, so that leaves me with 4 fewer hands in the house. Hmm… oh MOMMMM!!!
Calling in my mother when I’m in need always works. And I AM treating her to a night out on the town this week, so she OWES me! (I have tickets for a HYPNOSIS EVENT if you want to join us. It will be amazing!!)
BTW – that last comment is another test to see who is really reading this blog of mine! :)
While Mom is taking care of household things, I realize that delegating is more about BEING than DOING. I guess since other people are doing for you, that makes sense, but what I’m really talking about is the sense of peace that comes over me when I surrender and ask for help. When I take a closer look to evaluate the ways in which I am spending my time, the priorities become clearer and I gain focus. Then I don’t mind letting go of things… I don’t need to have control ALL the time! Peanut gallery – shush!
Of course some things you can’t delegate or wouldn’t want to because they are too enjoyable. Those lovely tasks you leave to yourself. As I have only 24 days til I’m 40… I am learning to do what I love whenever I have the chance!!!
