Happy Earth Day! In an effort to live with deliberate intent, I am making strides to be as GREEN as possible. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Here are a few results of my family’s conscious efforts toward environmentalism.
• Recognized and celebrated Earth Hour by turning off the lights and major appliances and played card by candlelight. So much fun, btw, I would recommend it for any Saturday night entertainment.
• Dressed in blue and green today for Earth Day… from our earrings (my daughter and I) to our underwear!
• Actually doing anything by candlelight is quite a nice change of pace :)
• Recycling paper, plastic and cardboard.
• Carrying a canteen of water instead of those nasty plastic ones – just learned a lot about that, and it’s enough to make your skin crawl and maybe even literally!
• Reusable shopping bags which are much more fashionable that those old plastic ones, to be sure.
• No more flyers!!!
• Clean up day with the City and with Scouts/Brownies.
Isn’t it great that taking care of the environment can be fun, too! It’s a great way of being as I count the days to my 40th birthday.
